Cooking Gas Cylinder at 1700 Rs .....
Now  don't think that I am saying the cost of cooking Gas after 10 years ..No In Manipur if you want to buy a Cooking Gas Cylinder you have to pay above 1500 rupees .This is not because of any price hike ...but due to protests carried out by two tribal groups in Manipur. The Kuki Tribe has been demanding for a new district and some part of this area belongs to the Naga Tribes...Now both tribes are on protests to protect their land by blocking the to National highways connecting Manipur to India.

Manipur cut off from India since 2 months:
The protesters have blocked two National Highways NH-53 and NH 39 which connects Manipur to rest of India in Senapati District since August 1....as a result essential commodities are being blocked or burned by the agitators .The demand for petrol and diesel is in rise many are staying in long Queue for the entire day to get a litre of petrol or diesel.

It seems the Indian Government that Indian Government have forgotten Governance and  is merely sitting and watching such protests in demand for new state or district ...Think about this a state virtually cut off from rest of the Country...... The protests including the Telegana protests is causing great distress to common people and commuters ....Its time the Government crackdown such protests or  take a decision to declare a new state as fast as possible if required ..but some of these protests seem to be politically motivated and for individual benefits.

MAD Life
How many of us are living a MAD life ....Making a Difference Life .. Recently in internet I came across a Youth Volunteer network named M.A.D ..comprising college students and young professionals.A group of educated youngsters  who  help underprivileged children with their education. These young leaders teach the children who are deprived of Basic education...They help these children by improving their communication skills, computer skills and their overall personality.

What does a M.A.D volunteer Do :
A M.A.D volunteer has to work just two hours a week ...M.A.D gives you the syllabus  to teach ..which is actually from Cambridge.Come join the ranks as a MAD volunteer and be the difference that you wish to see in the world.I too wished to Join M.A.D here in Hyderabad and contacted them ..But a M.A.D Volunteer should join the cause and work for at least for 1 year...which i couldn't with my current commitments.

So how M.A.D started :
The Make A Difference project was initiated by a group of 20 college students who saw a huge gap and disparity in the way rich and the poor learned. The Indian Education system caused a huge gap between the true divide in India - The Rich and The Poor. Make a Difference with a vision “To bridge the inequality in society through education" was thus first initiated in Cochin, Kerala.

Why M.A.D:
Indian Education is such that poor children from the underprivileged Indian society do get primary education but they drop out after 10th due to the lack of financial support or to lack of facilities for higher education.India has highest number of school dropouts all over the world.
M.A.D ensures the underprivileged children are brought into the main stream so they can chose their careers based on their potential and interests and not their financial constraints.

So Go join the M.A.D community and Make the difference you want to make in your Life..........below is video that gives you a idea what M.A.D does....

You tube video - Pakistani School girls about India:
Recently one of my friends in Facebook ...shared a you tube video on how Pakistan school girls think about India and Indians ....I clicked the link and watched the video...I found it interesting how common people from Pakistan  thought that India and Pakistan should forget the tension between each other and  help each other out as both are developing nation and affected adversely by Terrorism of all kinds.I would thank who has uploaded the video on You tube....I am sharing the video on this post ...

courtesy :

More Interesting Than the Video - comments on it:
But more interesting was not the video but the comments below the video ...It seemed as if Indian and Pakistan netizens  were fighting out abusing each other ...I think they don't even have the common sense of little School Girls ..who felt the better part .I am posting a screen shot of the page below

I have just pasted first few comments ,For more of the comments for this video please visit the site http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=81cfly1npRA  but before that I ask you read those remember the remaining comments are little abusive...
I do agree  ...Pakistan does support Terrorism against India and protect terrorists in its Nation but Its not the common People who love peace who support Terrorism,Its Pakistan  military,ISI and Pakistan Government who are in war against India ...  and its just for political and financial benefits ....and don't forget the Indian Politicians who have used war of words against Pakistan for Political gains and the fight in the name of Hindutva ( terrorism in name of Hinduism). The Osama row has further strengthened the theory of Pakistan protecting terrorism but I just hope it doesn't affect the India Pakistan Peace process.

Why Endosulfan Should be Banned ?
ENDOSULFAN a deadly pesticide sprayed in crops ,the effects of endosulfan is deadly on humans. The UNO classifies endosulfan as highly hazardous pesticide and banned in 62 countries. The usage of Endosulfan in India is high especially the pesticide is used for crops like cashew plantations, rubber and cotton plantations. But now the pesticide is used in small concentrations even for food crops. The pesticide was used heavily on cashew plantations in Kerala and later was banned in the state by the state Government as a study on Endosulfan effects showed greater Abnormalities such as mental retardation, cancer and infertility in the victims.Kasargod in north Kerala has thousands of people and children with extreme neurological and congenital deformities.

" In my previous post The Hell in Kerala - God's Own Country  have already given details on how the people of Kasargod in Kerala have suffered due to this Deadly Pesticide."

Why Central Government doesn't want to ban Endosulfan:
Even after repeated request from Kerala State Government the UPA Government seems to be reluctant to ban the deadly Pesticide. Its Interesting that  the Central Government is not convinced by the report  submitted by the government's National Institute of Occupational Health on the harmful effects of Endosulfan in 2002. But now the government has gone for  a fresh study by the Indian Council of Medical Research after  National Human Rights Commission intervened in December 2010 after Kerala Government's repeated requests.
In October 2010  At the Stockholm convention India was the only country to oppose other 61 countries, for including endosulfan in annexure 'A' of Persistent Organic Chemicals, which would have helped easy ban of the pesticide.India's explained that there was no adverse health effects by the pesticide even though studies in kerala showed how harmful the pesticide acts on human even after years.
India accounts for 70 per cent of the world production and consumption of endosulfan, and the Government doesn't want the economic side of the pesticide to be lost. Also many argue that the pesticide is more effective and less cost than many other Pesticides.Join my campaign against Endosulfan and help ban Endosulfan in India …..Post your comments and share this post.

Easter - Time to celebrate:
Its Easter and Cash - rich Christian community in northern Kerala districts celebrate it grant. But the patients in Alappuzha government hospital had to bear the pain of the celebrations. On 22nd at this hospital doctors conducted mass operations of at least 25 operations mainly Caesaereans  in 2 days in order to freely celebrate Easter.
Many cases were operated prior to the date already told and who could wait till next week for delivery.Patients complained that the surgeries were conducted in a hurry so that the doctors could be off duty during Easter weekend holidays.

Lack of Facilities:
The Government hospital is under equipped for such a mass operation but the doctors seemed to be not concerned about the fact. Many patients even didn't get basic facilities and medical care.More than a dozen mothers with their newborns could be seen lying on the floor of the hospital, lacking post-delivery care.

P K Sreemathi, Minister for Health, Kerala said "What the doctors have done is wrong. We are taking it very seriously and have constituted a probe panel. We are planning to include two experts from the Medical College too in the team."

JaganMohan Reddy to Become  Richy Rich MP:
Jaganmohan Reddy filing his nomination papers from the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency in Andhra Pradesh has declared his assets of Rs.365 crore. He could become one of India’s richest Members of Parliament (MP).The son of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has provided assets  worth Rs 363 crores, apart from the properties, cash and jewelery  in his wife Bharati's name worth Rs 77.43 crores.JaganMohan Reddy a former congress MP has created headache for ruling Congress party after he left congress starting a new party YSR congress Party. Many  top AP congress leaders have been supporting Jagan and have joined YSR congress Party.

How Jagan Became Richer:
It took years of hard work and luck for TATA, INFOSYS ,and many other top corporate heads to setup multi-billion firms ...but it took just a matter of 5 to 8 years for Jagan to build Rs.365crores worth business empire.Jagan has shares in top cement and power projects spread across south India. He also owns Sakshi TV and newspaper in Andhra Pradhesh.

In 7 years 44,6481 per cent Increase  in Wealth:
In 2004 Jagan's assests were just worth 8.19lakhs,this was when his Father YSR was not yet the chief Minister of Andhra Pradhesh,But in 2009 Jagan elected as Mp in a Congress ticket declared his assets as Rs.77.40 crores.A increase of 372 percent of wealth in 5 years when YSR completed his first term as Chief Minister. Now the present assests are worth Rs.363 crores a staggering increase of 446481% from 2004 to 2011.

Its clear how Jagan has used his fathers power to improve his business,Its only after the YSR became CM Jagan has invested in Big projects and established his business empire.Or may be its Jagan's skills and management techniques which may have helped him to turn into a business magnet.People of Andhra have great respect to Jagan's father late CM YSR Reddy ,YSR started and implemented various policies for the benefit of poor even though he looted and robbed the nation's wealth.

Anna Hazare - A new leader:
During past weeks we saw a leader for the entire nation ...a leader to drive common people's fight against corruption ...Many mentioned him as a true Gandhian ...and even named him as Gandhi of Modern India.Anna Hazare's fast till death to support Jan Lokpal bill against corruption saw the entire nation supporting him.The huge support he got at Jantar Mantar, where Hazare is fasting in New Delhi, was compared  to Cairo's Tahrir Square. After a long period India saw a non-violent protest of such extent ,even supported by Young Indians.

Anna Hazare - Former Army drive:
So Who is Anna Hazare ? How he became a National Hero overnight ?
Anna Hazare a 72-year-old Former Army driver, dressed in white and with a Gandhian cult,is not new to social activists. Born Kisan Bapat Baburao Hazare, he is a famous social activist in his home state of Maharashtra, where he turned his village of Ralegan Siddhi which once had no drinking water  into an environmental prototype.Hazare along with his villagers built small  dams and tanks, to conserve water and planted  trees making the village green. The idea and campaign was a hit and even the Maharashtra state Government started taking Ralegan Sindhi village as a model and implemented the project in more villages.

As a continuation Hazare fought against alcohol and tobacco ,supported literacy and free Education. His fight against dowry and other social causes brought him national and international recognition like Care India award.

The Fight Against Corruption:
Hazare's fight against corruption started back in 1991 ..he wanted to empower the common people against the bad policies of the Government. In 1997 Hazare fasted against Maharashtra government to enact a Right to Information Law which Maharashtra Government dragged for years without enacting. In 2003 Hazare started in definite fast and on 12th day of his fast ..The government implemented the law. This led to a National wide campaign and on 2005 Right to Information Act passed by Parliament and implemented in the entire nation.
Anna Hazare started his fast against corruption at Jantar Mantar on 5th April with the support of social workers and young activists. He wanted to draft a new Jan Lokpal Bill against the Government recommended Lokpal Bill.

What is difference between Lokpal and Jan Lokpal Bill:
The Jan Lokpal Bill designed by former judges and social activists recommends for setting up Lokpal and Lokayuktas (in states) independent from government’s (state and central) control. In this version, investigation in any corruption case will have to be completed in one year, and punishment would be a jail term of minimum 5 years and maximum of life imprisonment .

The government's version of the Lokpal Bill recommends a prison term of minimum 6 months and maximum 7 years as punishment for corruption.
So Hazare won the battle after five days of fast ...government  has issued a gazette notification constituting a 10-member Joint Committee of ministers and civil society activists, including him, to draft an effective Lokpal Bill.
So lets hope the bill is implemented soon...but remember...that an anti-corruption bill has been introduced eight times in the Indian parliament with no results since 1968 ?

Nuclear Panic in India:
The Fear of Nuclear Meltdown after the Earthquake in Japan .....World nations are in a shock and in spree to check the safety of their nuclear reactors. In India too the debate is on to check the safety of nuclear reactors in India.A Nation wide panic and protest have erupted on India's ambitious Nuclear projects and future sustainability of these nuclear projects. India is currently eying to depend its entire energy needs on nuclear power, the nuclear liability bill is just a step to its dream. But the current disaster in Japan is going to  impact India’s ambitious nuclear power program. But It seems the Government is not in a mood to derail from its nuclear programs.Government has expressed its concern on the Japan disaster and have asked to review the safety in all its nuclear power plants.

 Nuclear reactors In India:
India has twenty nuclear reactors with a generating capacity of 4,780 megawatt (MW).But it is noted that none of India's 20 nuclear reactors are in seismic Zone 5 which is most vulnerable to earthquakes. But the nuclear reactors in Japan and Taiwan are in Seismic Zone 7 and Zone 8 .

India's Disaster Management:
During the 2004 tsunami the Kalpakkam Nuclear power plant was shutdown automatically. And also during the earthquakes in Bhuj in Gujarat in 2001, all nuclear reactors remained safe. But what hurts Anti-nuclear group is not the seismic disaster but the preparedness of India's Disaster Management system. Even Japan with highly sophisticated Disaster management systems couldn't help a nuclear breakdown. But India has disorganized management system even in Administrative levels and checking a nuclear disaster of such  level in India is to be debated.

Cricket Match in a small Panipuri Shop:
The India vs Ireland encounter may not have been a thriller to watch ...But I had great experience watching the match.I watched the match in a small Panipuri Shop here in Hyderabad. As I was waking past the road I saw cricket being played live on TV on that Shop ....I just thought a minute entered the shop and ordered Panipuri as The Panipuriwalla was serving the panipuri my eyes where on the TV.After having I occupied the a chair and held to the TV....even though the match was boring.Dhoni and yuvi were gradually playing towards victory..as I was struck to TV i never noticed the gradual increase of crowd in front of the Shop.

Cheer for Pathan's Sixes:
With Dhoni out ....Yusuf Pathan was on crease ..As pathan hit a boundary ...a loud cheer from the crowd ..I just turned back and got surprised to see the huge crowd behind.Next ball to six and cheer was louder ..Sitting in a panipuri shop in Hyderabad...It seemed i was in a cricket ground.More to my surprised I noticed people were cheering in different language s...I am a malayali ,behind me two guys cheering in Kannnada....Behind that i can hear people cheering in hindi ,punjabi ..and telugu. It seemed entire India was cheering for the team.I understood why people say cricket is a religion in India.

BCCI show respect to Fans :
BCCI which is cash rich and Politically motivated seems to forget the Indian fans who are the real hero's in uplifting the game as a Religion in the nation.Recent lathi charge on fans standing on huge queues to buy tickets for a match at VCA stadium ,Nagpur..showed the respect BCCI gives to cricket fans.Even though the world cup final is held in India ,It is really funny when we are hosting the world cup final ...that to in a cricket crazy nation only about 4500 spectators from billions of Indians can watch the match in the stadium.ow about the remaining tickets ...about 20,000 tickets to go to clubs linked to the Mumbai Cricket Association and 8,500 to the International Cricket Council. But I really doubt whether the officials like the CWG 2010 .....have sold the entire tickets to Politicians and bureaucrats  who are cricket crazy.....or may be they have saved the tickets for their loved ones .....

 Some Cricket crazy fans......

Budget-5 %service tax on Health-care:
The Budget 2011 has slapped a 5% service tax on healthcare - latest addition to tax -rich India. With the tax to be levied from doctors of  private healthcare centres and clinics seems to make affordable medical treatment beyond reach for common people. It seems Governments plan is to get a share from huge profits that private hospitals earn by selling healthcare. But the Government have forget that common people - especially middle class are relying on private hospitals.Tax is imposed on hospitals with 25beds or more ,consultant doctors and diagnostic centres ...pushing medical bills of middle class out of reach.

India's Health-care sector:
Government of India spending on Medical care is very less when compared to Othelia developing countries.Government spends roughly about 1% of GDP on Health-care .....Its less than many under developed countries in Africa. The recent levy of 5% tax has just worsened the scenario ...the government should not forget service tax that is to be collected from private hospitals will eventually imposed common people who visit the hospital for treatments.India has got just 90 beds per 1lakh people ...the world average is 270 beds. The number of doctors and nurses per lakh people is bizarre just 60 doctors and 130 nurses. The government should take immediate steps to introduce more medical colleges to increase the number of doctors and nurses.
Rise is Medical bills :
Few months back in Hyderabad when I went to a private hospital to check my Fever , I had to pay 500Rs as fees.I wonder how the fee will increase after the tax imposed. This hospital is visited by middle class people rather than the rich India. In my village in Kanyakumari a private hospital Doctor gets a fee of about 50 rupees for a single meet ...the hospital is visited by common people both poor and middle class...the hospital does have more than 50 beds and it may also have to pay the service tax.The government may ask why to go to Private hospitals paying fee when Government hospitals get you free treatments,But Government hospitals are poorly resourced...and lacks basic amenities. The Government has also slashed funds for controlling various diseases like malaria ,TB and cancer....

Health Care need to seen as a critical sector which needs urgent attention and developments ....more investments need to be introduced ...Its important that government reduce burden on common people and slash the service tax on Health care ......what do you think ...comment your views on the tax imposed......

Join the Earth Hour 2011 Campaign
As the world nations are arguing and fighting for the climate change ...to save the earth, the world's biggest  Global climate change initiative Earth hour is back again. When World leaders are failing to take any decision on taking any steps against  World climate change. We the common people can do something for reducing the impact of climate change.Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). During this  switch off the lights for one hour ......for just one hour .
In India too the effects of climate change is visible ...the unpredictable rains ...change in monsoon periods ...less rainfalls ,rise in temperatures ,colder winters and rise in sea levels....this is not a mere change ..it has great effect to our life style ...within changing climate we saw unpredicted rains this year destroying crops and agriculture. It resulted in shortage of food and vegetables and steady rise in inflation.Even Indian Government and India's Economy ability to control inflation was questioned.Even a minister was quoted saying that what the government can do to about unpredictable rainfalls and climate change. But its time to act .....to save not only our nation but the entire world from climate change.....
So what is Earth Hour :
The campaign Earth hour was started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. The next year  Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating.
In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.
On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.

How to Support the Earth Hour 2011 Campaign:
Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). Together our actions add up and save the earth from climate change .....Share your views .....friends..

Below I share the official video on earth hour 2011..

13 pregnant women died after they were given infected intravenous (IV) fluids at a government hospital in Jodhpur ,Rajasthan. The 13 women died in a span of  10 days.Investigating the incident officials did laboratory tests and came to a conclusion that tainted IV fluids supplied to patients  was cause for death..

The incident took place in Umaid Hospital in Jodhpur ......the IV fluids were provided by a local company ...to Government hospitals...The officials are also not ruling out ....if administrated IV fluids are expired.

In India ...the medicines supplied to Government hospitals ,are sold in black to medical stores and private players  ...by government officials itself.Even usage of expired medicines is common in some Government hospitals where treatment is provided free or at subdued cost.

India stands first  for the highest number of maternal deaths in the world with tens of thousands of women dying every year due to pregnancy-related problems.

India's iconic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata planning to offer free medical check-ups to fans in a bid to lure more spectators and fill the ground during the World Cup,specially when India is not playing......As the venue was nt ready on time for India v England clash on Sunday  ....which got shifted to Bangalore ,Kolkata is left with three matches without involving team India

The news is that Bengal Cricket Association is in talks with various hospitals and  health centers for providing health checkups for the spectators.accordingly the scheme is to provide anyone who buys tickets worth more than 750 rupees ($16.50) a free blood pressure check, echocardiogram and consultation with doctors.

The 67,000-capacity Eden Garden stadium in Kolkata will host South Africa v Ireland on March 15, Ireland v the Netherlands on March 18 and Zimbabwe v Kenya on March 20.

Eventhough the Bengal cricket association is trying hard to lure spectators ...I think this offer is a stupid step .....they could have offered a cricket bat or cricket ball with each ticket ....more fans would have attended the matches .to fill the ground with fans and spectators can give the remaining or unfilled tickets for free may be for students and schools ...thus encouraging the students to the game.A full packed ground is better than ....half filled Eden Gardens...

February 21, 2011

Only 4,000 tickets in total are on sale for common public for the final game of  Cricket World cup 2011.The match is to be held on April 2 at the historic but less capacity Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. So where are the rest of the tickets for the match .....the stadium actually had a capacity of 45000 spectators..but recently has undergone major renovations which led to a reduction in seating to about 33,000.
Now about the remaining tickets ...the Tournament director Ratnakar Shetty has clarified that as per contractual obligations about 20,000 tickets to go to clubs linked to the Mumbai Cricket Association and 8,500 to the International Cricket Council. But I really doubt whether the officials like the CWG 2010 .....have sold the entire tickets to Politicians and bureaucrats  who are cricket crazy.....or may be they have saved the tickets for their loved ones .

It is really funny when we are hosting the world cup final ...that to in a cricket crazy nation only about 4500 spectators from billions of Indians can watch the match in the stadium  ......it also funny how the officials choose the smallest ground in the country to host the match...but yes you should understand that's why the officials are broadcasting the match live in TV ... for billions of India....I cant remember for how much cash did BCCI sell the broadcasting rights to ESPN/STAR SPORTS.

Anyway lets forget the controversies and watch India lifting the cup on "TV"..........................Cheer for the Indian Team....

In India ,the average age of politicians is 53.03 years....it is considered that politics is a job for aged men.Have you ever visualized a change in India .... Youngsters and educated ruling India .Doe you know kerala which is the highest literate state in India has a Chief Minister who is just 4th std pass.As we see more and more MP's are corrupt and stealing Government money....its time to change the system....why can we youngsters join politics...We elect criminals and crorepatis to the parliament ...and help them to steal our money.

Many youngsters in India don't even know what is politics ....when someone talks about Politics they say that all  politicians are corrupt and others grudge that the subject is boring. When we are talking about Indian Politics we are taking about India ...we forget that Parliament and Government are the lifeline of our Nation.Have you ever dreamt or have you ever heard a youngster saying i want to join Politics .....Its time change the Nation ..its time youngsters think and talk about politics seriously .....

Recently i came across these videos in you tube ,I would like to share them ,Its a Documentary by    Bruce Obenin.R , Every Indian Youngster must watch this video the videos are little long but worth having a look hear what youngsters think about politicians and ministers and why they want or don't want to join Indian Politics ....the video is divided two parts.....

1st part - Indian Youngsters - Join and change Indian Politics - must watch

2nd part - Indian Youngsters - Join and change Indian Politics - must watch

Indian government recently introduced  the Historic Right to Education Act ( RTE ) in parliament , but it seems to be stuck in midway due to controversies surrounding it and due to pressure from the education and School mafias who have made school Education a Business. But UNICEF have started a Online campaign Awaaz Do meaning ‘Speak Up’, in gathering support to the act which would  in turn  help millions of poor children in India in gaining free schooling and Education.
Its Interesting how private schools and missionaries who are making great profits through imparting schooling accept the act.The act requires all private schools to reserve 25% of seats for children from poor families.I have come across many private schools who get huge cash from working parents as donation, and give admission to students with educated parents.
When I travel through Hyderabad , I have seen many poor children working for daily wages even though Child labour is prohibited in India. The act will help these poor children to get free and quality education.
So What Is AWAAZ DO ?
All children 6 to 14 years old have the right to free and quality education under the recently passed Right to Education Act. The RTE Act specifies minimum norms in government schools. It requires all private schools to reserve 25% of seats for children from poor families (to be reimbursed by the state as part of the public-private partnership plan). The Act also provides that no child shall be held back, expelled, or required to pass a board examination until the completion of elementary education. There is also a provision for special training of school drop-outs to bring them up to par with students of the same age. The RTE Act is the first legislation in the world that puts the responsibility of ensuring enrolment, attendance and completion on the Government. The Right to Education of persons with disabilities until 18 years of age has also been made a fundamental right. A number of other provisions regarding improvement of school infrastructure, teacher-student ratio and faculty are made in the Act.To make the Right to Education Act successful, it is important that each one of us knows about it so that every child who is not in school can be sent back for free and quality education.
How can you help ?
Stand up and make some noise! Join the Awaaz Do movement by signing up now for India's children. Ask your friends to be a part of getting every single girl and boy into school. Do it now for India's future. Come forward and donate to UNICEF to help change 8 million lives. Spread the word to your family and friends. You can SMS, e-mail or just talk to them and ask them to speak up and raise their voice for children. One voice makes a difference but together we can help change the fate of 8 million children. The time to begin is NOW! Find a school near you and make a visit. Check if the school has: • Separate toilets for boys and girls. • Drinking water and places for students to wash their hands with soap. • Playgrounds for playing sports and having fun. • A school library for students and their teachers. • Mid-day meals for children.
You can meet the school head, teachers, community members and even the parents of children enrolled there and talk to them about the RTE Act. Let them know about the highlights and let them know how every child can benefit.
Awaaz Do!Come on India .....Give free education to poor children.

After iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata ....was in news for bad reasons ...for late construction and safety issues now Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium is in news for problems relating to fire safety. The Wankhede Stadium is to host the Worldcup Final on 2nd April.....But Mumbai's chief fire officer revealed several safety problems needed correcting before the event received the go-ahead.

But the organizers have ruled out any speculation of removing the stadium as a host.....they clarified that there were some changes to be done regarding fire safety and they now cleared. The officials assured that the matches will happen as per schedule

Its interesting to note how at the last movement how Fire and safety officials have found fault in safety measures in the stadium....its them who cleared the plan for renovating the stadium. As per the power cash rich BCCI on Government affairs ...the issue doesn't seem to be serious ....and will never cause any hindrance to the matches in the venue.

Lets hope India plays its Final in the stadium and lifts the cup ....in the same stadium ....Support the Indian Team ...

    Sell Wild Animals:
When we are fighting for conservation of our forests and wildlife ,Bengal forest minister Ananta Ray has thrown every wildlife conservation rule out of the window. He feels that forests in Bengal has too many leopards, elephants and rhinos. He wants to sell these excess animals to private owners the highest bidders, may be on a auction .

Excess animals in Bengal forests:
To my astonishment he wants animals to be sterilized to reduce there number in Bengal forests. When animal welfare groups are fighting to save animals killed by poaching...the minister has other thoughts.Rhinos which are endangered species need to be saved from extinction ..but the minister wants the animals to be sold to foreign zoos.
The minister said in a press conference  that the forest department will soon write to the Union forest and environment ministry to seek permission.According to the minister, bison, rhinos, deer, elephants and leopards were in excess in some forests of Bengal. They stray into villages, injure and kill people.Leopards and elephants have grown in number quite phenomenally. He has planned three things. They could be sterilized to control their population. They could transfer the excess population from forests to zoos, also have the option of selling them to private individuals.

Elephant our National Animal:
It seems that the Minister is ignorant about basic rules on Wildlife protection. He even forget the stats that no animal is excess in  Indian forests.Wildlife rules strictly forbid the transfer of animals from the wild to captivity,be it a zoo in India or abroad.Selling wild animals to private party is madness.............The Minister also stated to the press that Elephant is our National animal ....Pretty good information from a Forest Minister.

I started blogging to share my views on current events and news of national interest in India..... A blog site would reach more number of people not only in India but throughout the world, before blogging i used to write to magazines and newspapers but never saw one get printed. After i started blogging many of my readers and friends asked me about blogging and how to start a blog or a website. Many friends wanted to know were they would get domain names and web hosting at less cost. Recently I came to know about BigRock.
